The first commission is to initialize your account, and the cost can range from $70 to $300. The second fee range from $10 to $30, and it is to allow OpenSea to access your NFT. OpenSea is one of the most trusted NFTs trading platforms in the ecosystem.

To mint NFTs for free on OpenSea, here are the steps you must follow.

Open a MetaMask Wallet

To get into OpenSea for the first time, you must have a crypto wallet account. That is the only way you can sign in. OpenSea supports different types of crypto wallets on the blockchain.

Although the most common wallet for connecting to OpenSea is MetaMask. In addition, you can open a MetaMask wallet account for free.

Setup Your Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Collection

The next thing to do is to set up your first collection on OpenSea. 

• Go to the Profile Icon on the upper part of your screen. At the right, select ‘My Collections.’
• You can select ‘Create a Single NFT’ or ‘Create a Collection.’
• Fill out all the necessary details (logo, name, price, royalties, description, and so on).

Choose Polygon Network

The gas fees for Ethereum can be very high. So, switch to Polygon Network. Changing to Polygon Network will make the gas fee of the minting process free.

Begin to Mint Your NFT for Free

• Start minting your NFTs by selecting the collection.
• Select the ‘Add Item’ button, and a form will open up.
• Upload the digital file you want to convert to an NFT.
• Select the ‘Create’ button.

You are done at this point and have just minted your first NFT on the Polygon Blockchain Network successfully. Also, you have done it for free. You can now proceed to sell by clicking on ‘Sell.’
